Schedule D and financial statement data on Insurance Company Portfolio Holdings

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract to A.M. Best Company, Inc. for data on insurance company portfolio holdings as disclosed in the annual and quarterly Schedule D statements of insurers in the U.S. Property/Casualty and Life/Health markets. A.M. Best has been collecting and disseminating information on the insurance industry since 1899. No other source has been identified with the required historical coverage supplied in structured data format conducive to economic analysis that includes public and private companies as they were filed at the time. The period of performance will be from February 1, 2012 to January 31, 2013. The SEC intends to negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1; Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested organizations may submit their capability statements and qualifications for the provision of this requirement. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurements. This is a Notice of Intent, not a solicitation. No solicitation will be issued for this sole source requirement and no other information will be provided.
