44--Replacement hydraulic tilt pour induction furnace for an existing Ajax TOCCO

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD), has a requirement for a replacement hydraulic tilt pour induction furnace for an existing Ajax TOCCO melting unit. NSWCCD intends to negotiate a non-competitive procurement with the Ajax TOCCO Magnethermic Corp. of Warren, OH, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only one responsible source and no other supplier of services will satisfy agency requirements. Ajax TOCCO is the manufacturer of the existing furnace. The set-aside for small business concerns has been dissolved. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responsible sources submitting proposals within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solel! y for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Anticipated award date is on or around 3/27/09.
