The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee intends to issue sole source firm fixed priced commercial item contract to Steris Corporation to provide preventative maintenance services on the STERIS Steam Sterilizer, Serial Number 032270703. The STERIS steam sterilizer is utilized in the decontamination and sterilization process to eliminate the possibility of transmission of infectious agents. The services will be performed at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center Memphis, 1030 Jefferson Avenue, Memphis, TN, 38104. This sole source procurement will be issued to Steris Corporation because they are the OEM for the STERIS steam sterilizer. If preventative maintenance is not carried out properly and accurately patient as well as staff safety could be placed at risk. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and 13.106-1(b) (2), "soliciting from a single source."
