A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health (NIH), Clinical Center (CC), Department Laboratory Medicine, (DLM) intends to solicit a quote and enter into firm-fixed price service maintenance agreement, with BD Diagnostics. The requirement is for preventive maintenance support services for patient care and research protocols, the system is for the automated detection of pathogens in patient samples to ensure h FX and MGIT instrument continue to perform the highest level to maintain quality patient care at the Clinical Center. The preventive Maintenance (PM) services includes, full repair coverage preventive and , labor maintenance to be performed during twelve (12) months period including work perform within the hour of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM local time that is available Monday- Friday BD Diagnostics is the sole proprietor of the device. There is no other known company that can provide the breadth and depth of knowledge of the unique instrumentation to properly service the device. Service engineer support is with factory-certified trainers who are kept up to date on all system updates and global customer feedback. There is no other known service organization that can replicate this level of training and expertise on the device. The NIH intends to award a one (1) year fixed price purchase order to BD Diagnostics for twelve (12) month base period, and three (3) additional option year on preventive maintenance coverage on the BD FX platforms and one MGIT System This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements of Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
