The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 7305 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33410 has the need for continuity of Home Oxygen Autotransfusion Services in accordance with Health Care Resources Contracting-Buying Title 38 U.S.C. as outlined in VA Directives 1663. VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach intends to make a sole source award to Dura Medical Equipment, Inc., a small business, for the purchase of Oxygen Services for the month of June 2009. Dura Medical Equipment, Inc. has proven to be capable of providing these services with outstanding performance ratings. In order to maintain uninterrupted patient care this has prompted contracting to expedite an order under FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source can provide these temporary services until a new contract can be establish. At this time, Miami is working on a new consolidated contract, which includes WPB and Miami VA only. Based in past performance, and in order to maintain uninterrupted patient care is recommended to have Dura Medical Equipment, Inc, as a temporary solution until a permanent contract can be awarded by the Miami VAMC. This notice of intend is for information purposes only. No solicitation will be made available and all information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government by June 4, 2009. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
