Synopsis: Extension of the Provision of Voice and Data Services to USAID South Sudan.

USAID/South Sudan awarded the subject Purchase Order to Zain Telecommunications Company, South Sudan, for the provision of voice and data services to the staff in the USG Mission in South Sudan. The contract was awarded on August 12, 2020 and will run to a close on June 11th, 2021. With the current COVID-19 pandemic, all staff with Telework capability in the Mission are Teleworking. Due to the inadequacy of internet infrastructure in the country the Zain Telecommunication company provides a better platform to perform telework duties. This service provided by the Telecom service company is for voice communications and internet for the staff to access office applications remotely and for virtual meetings through video and voice conferencing with partners and line Government Ministries through Google Meet and WebEx. After the end of the current contract, the Mission intends to award a sole-source contract to the incumbent for a one-year period due to the inability of other Telecom providers in South Sudan to maintain the same telephone numbers which staff have maintained as their contacts since 2011. With the high internet usage by staff for government business process due to accessing corporate applications remotely and attending meetings virtually which is either voice or video. USAID/South Sudan will , in addition to extending the period of performance, will also increase the Monthly Data usage from 25GB to 50GB per Month at a yearly ceiling of $520,00 that includes voice.
