Page 3 of 3 Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration February 10, 2022 NOTIFICATION OF UPCOMING ACTION FOR SURVEY OF HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCES OF PATIENTS (SHEP) SURVEYS USING HOSPITAL CONSUMER ASSESSMENT OF HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS AND SYSTEMS (HCAHPS) APPROVED VENDORS NOTIFICATION: The Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC), intends to award a future contract for the VHA Office of Quality and Patient Safety/Analytics and Performance Integration (API) Survey of Healthcare Experiences of Patients (SHEP) surveys to a Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) approved vendor. The purpose of this notification is to alert industry that all potential vendors need to be approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to administer the HCAHPS survey in order to be considered for award of the entire API SHEP survey contract. The approval can be either provisional or full at the time the solicitation closes. Note there is not currently a solicitation for this effort, and a Request for Information will be posted at a future date.
