The Detroit VA Medical Center, 4646 John R Street, Detroit, MI 48201 intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Medivance, 1172 Century Drive, Louisville, CO 80027. The proposed contract action is for the purchase of an Arctic Sun Control Module and Accessories. The Arctic Sun Temperature Management System simulates the principles of water immersion, while providing a more practical solution and precise control of the cooling process. The Arctic Sun transfers heat by direct conduction and approximates the performance of water immersion by providing high energy transfer and precise control. The system should be leak-proof, have secondary temperature monitoring, purge feature, fill feature, echo feature, and a temperature control range from33 degrees to 37 degrees C. It should also have a circulating water temperature from 4 degrees to 42 degrees C, patient temperature range from 10 degrees to 42 degrees C and standard temperature probes. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii).
