This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a quote is requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is being issued using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This competition is set-aside for small businesses. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 333314 Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500. This solicitation incorporates the provisions and clauses in effect in Federal Acquisition Circular 2021-06 dated June 10, 2021 and Defense Publication Notice 20210709, dated July 9, 2021 Requirement Description The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) has a requirement for a ZEISS Axioscope 5 TL/FL, with Plan Objectives/Optics, Colibri 7, Axiocam 705 Color, Installation and Training, and Preventative Service or equal products meeting all the salient characteristics illustrated in the Product Comparison Table found in Attachment 1.
