NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Safety and MissionAssurance Services (SMAS) in support of the NASA/GSFC Safety and Mission AssuranceDirectorate. This requirement will be issued as a Small Business Set-Aside. The NAICSCode and Size Standard are 541712 and 1,000 employees, respectively.The anticipated type of award is Cost Plus Fixed Fee/Completion type contract with anIDIQ component. The period of performance is five years (3 year base with 2-1 yearoptions). The contractor shall provide Safety and Mission Assurance services forNASA/GSFC managed flight projects and operations including Mission Assurance, SystemsReview, Systems Safety, Reliability and Risk Analysis, Software Assurance, InformationTechnology, and NASA Flight Hardware Technology Assurance. The anticipated release date of the Draft RFP is on or about February 22, 2011 withcomments due on or about March 17, 2011. An Industry Day and Site Visit will bescheduled shortly after release.
