70--Powerscribe Workstation is a computer driven, software and hardware based voice recognition transcription system.

This announcement is notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order to Dictaphone Corporation, 3191 Broadbridge AVE, Stratford, CT 06614-2566. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). Dictaphone Corporation is the only source that can provide this specialized web-based, real-time speech recognition solution for medical dictation and report creation for the workgroup market. Powerscribe Workstation is a computer driven, software and hardware based voice recognition transcription system that when used as intended will reduce transcription and report 72 hour wait time to immediate availability. Powerscribe provides a solution for orders-based medical disciplines, specifically for radiology. The Powerscribe Workstation system consists of four core components, (1) Web & File Server, (2) Database Server, (3) Recognition Server, (4) PowerExpress/HL7 Server. The Powerscribe HL7 interface is already part of the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) application, installed with change packet 72. Powerscribe optionally offers the STATdx integration. The STATdx integration is an online reference a decision support tool for radiologists from Amirsys. The Powerscribe integration will log the user directly into STATdx, and initiate a text query.
