Description
The National Library of Medicine (NLM) intends to procure hardware upgrades from Boxx Technologies on a sole source basis under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulations FAR) 6.302-1. Boxx specifically designs and support machines for work in 3D, visual effects, animation, broadcast, post-production and digital video. The current APDB renderfarm is comprised of Boxx rendernodes. Boxx?s support experience in the 3D and video field has been instrumental in the design of APDB?s videographics computing environment. Boxx is its only domestic source. As the sole manufacturer and North American reseller for the RenderBoxx and 3DBoxx systems Boxx Technologies is uniquely qualified to provide upgrades to existing computers. The proposed acquisition will be procured under FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisitions.This is not a Request for Quotations (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available. However, all responsive sources may submit a capabilities statement in a timely manner that will be considered by the Government. Responses must be in writing and must be received in the office within seven (7) calendar days from the publication date of this notice. The quoter shall include all information which documents and/or supports the qualification criteria in one clearly marked section of its quotation. The contractor shall comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, executive orders, rules and regulations applicable to its performance under this order.
