The US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) 3909 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180-6199 needs to purchase fourteen Dor-Mor anchors, each weighing 135 pounds. The anchors are required for a sonic telemetry study of endangered sturgeon. The Dor-Mor anchors will be used to set buoys above and below the Old River Control Structure on the Mississippi River near Baton Rouge, LA. Sonic receivers will be attached to each buoy that will detect and record any sturgeon outfitted with an internal sonic transmitter. Detections by the receivers will be used to evaluate the time and magnitude of sturgeon entrainment from the Mississippi River, through the structure, and into the Atchafalaya River.
