66--Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source ThermoElectron Orbitrap Service Contract

Synopsis: This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The ACC-APG Tenant Contracting Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source contract to THERMO ELECTRON NORTH AMERICA LLC (OEM) (Cage Code 3WXJ7). The company is the OEM and owns the proprietary rights to the to the software that controls the Orbitrap Fusion Tribrid Mass Spectrometer's operating system. The contractor shall provide full-service preventive maintenance support and repair of the government-owned ThermoElectron OrbiTrap Fusion ETD Serial Number FSN10213 located at the Detection Spectrometry Branch (DSB), Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 811219. Period of performance is a base year and one option year. Posting date of this requirement is 17 August, 2015. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, 27 August 2015. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition will be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. This is not a Request for Quote.
