The United States Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) Acquisition Center, National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) Branch intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to American Chemical Society dba Chemical Abstracts Service (Cage Code 019P5) for a SciFinder Database Subscription, pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Soliciting from a single source. Chemical Abstracts Service division (CAS), located in Columbus, Ohio (www.cas.org), is currently the only organization in the world able to produce and offer the product known as SciFinder. ACS owns and controls all of the proprietary rights in this product. The period of performance of the subscription service is 1 September 2015 to 31 August 2016. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 519130 - Internet Publishing and Broadcasting and Web Search Portals, with a size standard is 500 employees. The purpose of this notice is to inform the public of the Government's intent to award on a sole source basis for the required services. This notice does not constitute a Request for Quote. Information received from interested parties will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any firm who believes they can provide the SciFinder Database Subscription may submit a written response for consideration by the NGIC Contracting Office.
