RECOVERY - Indian Health Service requirement for Misc. Information Technology equipment.

THIS NOTICE AMENDS A PRIOR NOTICE TO INFORM THE PUBLIC THAT AN ANNOUNCED SOLICITATION WILL NOW BE PUBLISHED ONLY ON THE SEWP CONTRACT WEBSITE OF THE NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION (NASA). Background On February 17, 2009, President Barack Obama signed into law the American Recovery and Re-investment Act (ARRA). Notices of opportunities funded with ARRA funds are, pursuant to the law, to be announced on FedBizOpps. On July 12, 2010, we published a list of IT products on this website that the Indian Health Service needs. The Indian Health Service's requirement is being procured by the Interior Departments Acquisition Support Directorate (AQD) on its behalf. Purpose of this Announcement The Indian Health Service's requirement has changed since the original announcement was posted. It added items to the original list of goods which would ordinarily necessitate the posting of an amended FedBizOpps notice. By the time the change was made known, AQD had already determined that the total requirement can be competed among holders of existing SEWP schedule contracts at less cost to the taxpayer by publishing of the requirements on NASA's website. As a result of the new circumstances, this announcement is issued to clarify that the AQD intends to issue one or more firm fixed price delivery orders against the existing contracts of one or more NASA SEWP contract holders who have already contracted with NASA for the materials the Indian Health Service needs. The equipment needed will be acquired on a brand name or equal to basis (due to the necessity to continue compatibility with existing equipment for which a support infrastructure covering some very remote operating locations has been established).
