In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of FAA's intention to contract with Harris Corporation of Ft. Wayne, Indiana using single-source procedures. Harris Corporation will provide NEXCOM Automatic Test Equipment to specifically conduct a unique set of tests to ensure that the product specifications of the Multimode Digital Radio (MDR) are met. MDR equipment is a proprietary design of Harris Corporation (formerly Exelis Corporation), which possesses all the rights to the detailed technical data and testing and maintenance of the equipment. As such, Harris Corporation is the only source able to meet the FAA's requirements. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. The period of performance will be 30 days.
