The Internal Revenue Service intends to issue Invitation for Bids (IFB) TIRMS-03-B-00002 for the removal and replacement of a 750 ton cooling tower located on the Northeast corner of the building with a new 600 ton cooling tower at the Internal Revenue Service, Austin Service Center, Submission Processing Building, 3651 S. IH35, Austin, Texas 78741. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, transportation, and supervision for the replacement of the cooling tower including demolition, removal, and disposal of existing cooling tower and installation of a new cooling tower, above ground condenser water piping, electrical work, and associated equipment. The work includes but is not limited to the following Major Divisions of Work: General Conditions, Site-work/Demolition, Concrete, Mechanical, and Electrical. BAC or MARLEY cooling towers are the ONLY acceptable brands for this project. NO other brands of cooling towers will be accepted. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The NAICS code is 235990 and the size standard is $11.5. The IFB will be issued on or after June 17, 2003. The exact bid opening date will be stated in the IFB. A site visit will be scheduled shortly after issuance of the IFB. Drawings of the affected area will be made available during the site visit.
