59--BRAYCOTE LUB AND BONDING

NASA/JSC has a requirement for 56 SB800 units with Braycote Lub and Bonding (DETTPS) and internal strobe-light flashes that will be used in the DETTPS Camera Flash Assembly, which must interface with the DETTPS Camera Assembly. NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from Nikon. Nikon is the manufacturer of the SB800 units. Braycote lubricating grease has been approved for spaceflight. Delivery of the items is 30 days ARO for the shipment of the first 10 units and 60 days ARO for the shipment of the next 46 units. Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:30 p.m. local time on April 06, 2007. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
