The Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs Office (SSP) intends to solicit and award a competitive, Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contract in order to demonstrate innovative solid rocket motor design and manufacturing techniques suitable for development into an affordable SLIRBM. The demonstration will consist of one (1) chamber hydro-burst test and one (1) prototype static full-scale test firing at a test site to be provided by the contractor. Emphasis of this demonstration will be affordability, defined as the combination of the lowest projected boost motor subsystem development cost and the lowest possible expected average unit cost of a notional inventory objective of 100 missile sets of boost motor stages. Period of Performance will be twelve (12) months from contract award. Security Clearance at the Secret level is required.
