W81K04-11-P-0040 Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: In accordance with FAR 13.501, this is a notice of the Government's intent to solicit, negotiate and award a sole source contract to Natural Standards for the purchase of a subscription to the Natural Standard complementary and alternative medicine/therapy information resource database for Headquarters, U.S. Army Medical Command, Fort Sam Houston, Texas 78234. The associated NAICS code is 519130 and the size standard is 500 employees. Access to this information resource is critical for military providers due to patients' increased usage of dietary supplements, herbs and vitamins and the potential adverse interaction with prescribed medication. Natural Standard is the only known supplier of required databases and maintains the license and proprietary ownership of the required web-based databases. No compatibles or substitutes accepted. In accordance with FAR 5.207, interested vendors may identify their capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
