FEDBIZOPS NOTICE OF INTENT FOR SOLE SOURCE: The 10CONS/PKB, Operational Contracting Office, USAF Academy, US Air Force Academy received a Sole Source justification for the purchase of enhancement and support of Mammography Reporting Systems Inc. (MRS) software. This procurement is for the acquisition of a sole source commercial item using simplified procedures in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13. The requirement is in support of twenty-seven Air Force Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) both in the U.S. and abroad. The purpose of this Air Force centralized system is to store records for the entire patient populace and make it accessible to all treatment facilities. The proposed enhancement and support program consists of the following: - Unlimited toll-free telephone support during business hours in the Continental U.S., Alaska and Hawaii for one year from the date of purchase. - Free point release upgrades released during the period for the same version, edition and options as licensed - Documentation for the MRS system configuration as licensed - Discount on product upgrades that MRS commercially releases for the same edition and options as licensed - Options purchased to an existing system are supported through the end of the current support period - Period of support and enhancement is for one year The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) number is 511210, Software publishers and the business size standard is $38.5 million. a. Only one responsible source and no other item will satisfy the Air Force requirement. b. MRS is the only source which can provide support to their proprietary software. Any offerors believing they can provide the required enhancement and maintenance to MRS software described above may provide evidence for consideration. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement can be conducted. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern.
