THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE TO GSA IT SCHEDULE 70 CONTRACT HOLDERS WHO CAN PROVIDE ALCATEL BRAND NAME OR EQUAL PRODUCTS. The Department of Interior (DOI), National Business Center (NBC), Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD), Herndon Office on the behalf of the Indian Health Service (IHS), is soliciting qualified GSA IT Schedule 70 firms to submit responses to a Request for Quotation for various Alcatel (or equivalent) Information Protocol (IP) Networking Equipment for multiple IHS health centers. The IHS, Division of Information Technology Operations (ITO) is intending to use Recovery Act funds for this procurement. The funding was included in the programs OMB Spend Plan for the Recovery Act as a component of the IT Infrastructure upgrade in support of meaningful use (ARRA-I-001). The Treasury Account Symbol for this requirement is 75 9/0 0389. IHS-ITO provides core network services and support to federal and tribal health care facilities in over 33 states. The hardware associated with this acquisition directly address the equipment needs in support of ARRA related work as well as continuity and compatibility with existing equipment within IHS-ITO. This acquisition supports the objective expected from the spending of ARRA funds as noted in the HIS-ITO ARRA Implementation Plan for Health Information Technology. This plan has been approved by OMB and is posted on www.recovery.gov. The objective of this acquisition is to purchase IP Networking equipment for the IHS. The Acquisition Services Directorate intends to issue this requirement as a firm fixed price competitive delivery order to GSA IT Schedule 70 contract holders only. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334210, "Wide Area Network Communications Equipment," size standard 1,000 employees. The contract will contribute materially to IHS' successful completion of its responsibilities under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.
