The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Contracting Office intends to solicit on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) to B&B Trucking for a particular class II gravel material. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. IEEB has a requirement for a particular crushed granite material to be used in the construction of a scale zoned embankment model. The granite will be used as the shell material for the continuation of a United States Bureau of Reclamation embankment experiment set. This material is the only soil in the area that matches the particle size distribution properties from previous experiments. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 13. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
