--Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source PO to the Intern. Trade Center (ITC)

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) intends to award a sole source fixed-price purchase order under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.106-1(b), to the International Trade Center in Washington, DC to rent meeting space and purchase light refreshments for the Presidential Green Chemistry Awards to be held in June 2011. The justification is as follows: The awards ceremony needs to be held in close proximity to the EPA headquarters so that EPA employees and program management that are responsible for the logistics and coordination of the event are able to access their offices during the function, and for the logistics of moving the awards and all literature between EPA Headquarters and the selected venue. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. The purchase order to the ITC for the rental of meeting space and light refreshments is a sole source purchase made in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). It has been determined that the ITC is the only source that is reasonably available and can meet the Government?s needs. All inquiries and concerns must be addressed in writing via e-mail to [email protected] by February 25, 2011 at 11:00 am EST. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. The decision not to compete this requirement is within the discretion of the government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
