NANO AIR VEHICLE (NAV) PROGRAM, DARPA PROPOSERS’ DAY WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT, SN05-36. DARPA’s Nano Air Vehicle (NAV) Program is a technology development and integration program to demonstrate the capability to develop an extremely small ( 60 seconds; and g) the ability to hover in place for >60 seconds after completing a 1000 high speed meter ingress and the 60 second low speed ingress. The program will be divided into two phases: 1) Subsystem Design & Evaluation and Preliminary Integrated Design, and 2) Comprehensive Design, Integration, Test, and Evaluation. The initial dissemination of information on this initiative will be a Program Proposers’ Day on Thursday, September 29, 2005. The goals of this meeting are threefold: 1) To familiarize participants with DARPA’s interest in cutting edge Nano Air Vehicle technology, 2) identify potential bidders and promote their understanding of the goals of the effort, and 3) promote discussion of synergistic capabilities among potential program participants. It is our desire to facilitate the formation of strong teams and business relationships in order to develop competitive responses to any potential forthcoming DARPA BAA and any subsequent solicitations. While such solicitations are expected, there is no guarantee that any will be forthcoming. The Proposers’ Day will be held at the Executive Conference Center, 3601 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22201. An $80.00 registration fee is required to cover the cost of the meeting. Pre-registration is required by September 26, 2005, for workshop attendance. DARPA will not provide cost reimbursement for workshop attendance. The workshop will be unclassified and open to all potential bidders. Attendance is limited to three representatives per organization and is not required to propose to any subsequent BAAs or research solicitations that may be issued on this topic. Registration for the Proposers’ Day begins at 8:00 AM (EST), followed by the morning session at 9:00 AM (EST). This session will include the introduction of the DARPA NAV Program and Invited Presentations addressing state-of-the-art foundation technologies. The Afternoon Session will begin at approximately 1:00 PM continuing with invited presentations, followed by interactive teaming discussions ending NLT 4:30 PM. Breakfast, morning break, lunch and afternoon break will be included. INVITED PRESENTATIONS INFORMATION: Invited speakers are hereby solicited from each organization or affiliation. [email protected] by September 15, 2005. There will be no exceptions, and those who have not registered will not be permitted to present their technologies and capabilities. All materials submitted to and presented at the NAV Proposers’ Day Workshop must be approved in advance for public release by the organization that funded the research and the DARPA program manager. Any material you wish to present at the workshop must be received in electronic format no later than September 22, 2005, in order to receive consideration. It is the presenters’ responsibility to ensure that the material has been approved for public release by the organization that funded the research. Written confirmation of this approval is required by COB September 26, 2005. Registration will be restricted to US citizens only. Government issued photo ID must be presented for admission.
