NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The 673d Contracting Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson ABW, Alaska intends to award a sole source purchase order to Josiah N. Gluck, 203 West 107th St. #7, New York, NY 10025 because: • The digital mixing engineer must be available for mixing in the studio of the U.S. Air Force Academy Band at Peterson AFB, CO on 21-28 April, 2011, and be willing and capable of using the mixing equipment and software in that specific studio • The digital mixing engineer providing services must have expertise in all digital production software required for the production of a world-class musical recording project, to include recording, mixing, and mastering the recorded material to the highest professional standards the engineer must also have experience with the equipment identical to that in the studio at Peterson AFB • The digital mixing engineer providing services must have extensive experience and the highest positive reputation possible in the recording industry evidenced by industry-wide award recognition; i.e. Grammy Awards, etc. Experience with a variety of musical styles and performing ensembles to include the recording, mixing, and mastering of vocalists is mandatory. • The digital mixing engineer providing services must have experience recording, mixing, and mastering other Air Force Bands recording projects. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 13.501. The anticipated award date is 20 April 2011. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the product/services listed above. Deadline date for the submittals is 19 Aug 2010 at 12 pm Alaska Standard Time. A determination by the government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
