DEMONSTRATION THAT THE CONTRACTOR?S UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS OR NATURE OF THE ACQUISITION REQUIRES THE USE OF THE AUTHORITY CITED ABOVE (APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY) Marine Corps Forces Central Command (MARCENT) has installed Knoll modular furniture in all MARCENT facilities. The Knoll modular furniture design?s stability and system integrity hinges on the attachment of properly fitted cubicle systems. In addition, the MARCENT Knoll cubicle system was designed and set-up to maximize the available space within MARCENT. To conjoin another cubicle system would seriously degrade the entire system and would not allow for the maximum use of available space. The other option would be to purchase an entire cubicle system which is currently valued at $471K. Pursuing another cubicle system would not be cost effective nor would it be reasonable when additional Knoll cubicle systems can be purchased for $12K.
