Special Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source Cell phone and Blackberry Service

Government intends to award two option year delivery orders for CONUS and OCONUS on a sole source basis to Verizon Wireless through the Department of Navy mandatory SPIRAL 2 contract, N00244-12-D-0016, for all Department of Navy Wireless Servers users. Both delivery orders will be for a period of one year and each for an amount that will not exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. The exception to the fair opportunity process is that the sole source basis is in the interest of economy and efficiency because it is a logical follow on to a previous order under the Department of Navy’s wireless service contract. An approved justification to utilize a sole source contract is in the file in the contracting office.
