DESCRIPTION: This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A LIMITED SOURCE CONTRACT The proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to solicit only one source, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy the agency requirements. The United States Marine Corps intends to procure on other than full and open competition basis a contract for the upgrade of its Nine One One (911) emergency response system. The Marine Corps Base (MCB), Quantico, Virginia utilizes 911 for its emergency response system. The existing system contains proprietary hardware and software and only 911 can provide the required hardware, and software installation necessary to upgrade the emergency response system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive bids, however a firm that believes it can meet the requirement shall provide a capability statement to the Contracting Officer . Capability statements, if received timely will be considered; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any firm believing that they can provide this service may submit a written response to be received by the Contracting Officer no-later-than 10AM, eastern daylight time, August 19, 2011.
