Department of Navy (DON) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) Blue Coast Small Business Symposium May 10 - May 11, 2011 Virginia Beach, Virginia The DON OSBP is conducting its annual Blue Coast Small Business Symposium in Virginia Beach, Virginia on 10/11 May. OSBP's key strategic objective is to develop closer collaboration with Construction, Research and Development, Manufacturing and Service companies and foster improved small business relationships with the government. The symposium is held simultaneously with the AFCEA/USNI Joint Warfighting Conference, which is the premier venue for engaging the warriors and industry leaders who are shaping the nation's military strategies and warfighting platforms. With this symposium you will have a chance to meet with the Navy head contracting agencies that are responsible for over $14.1 billion DON Small Business Awards. The primary purpose of the event is to provide a forum to educate, guide and assist small businesses in working with the federal government on the East Coast. Speakers and topics are specifically chosen to make it easier for companies to do business with the government. Plenary sessions with guest speakers are combined with break-out sessions addressing small business concerns and topics. In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities for networking including a matchmaking event with representatives from both government and large prime contractors.
