This project will consist of pavement rehabilitation and curve reconstruction on 6.154 kilometers of roadway for NV PRA-LAME 10(1), Callville Bay Road, in Lake Meade National Recreation Area, Clark County, State of Nevada. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Principal work items (largest schedule): lump sum contractor testing; 6,100 m silt fencing; lump sum watering for dust control; 29,000 m3 roadway excavation; 2,700 m3 riprap (various); 13,700 metric tons aggregate base; 6.280 km road reconditioning; 14,250 metric tons Hot asphalt concrete pavement; 800 metric tons minor hot asphalt concrete; 2,400 metric tons open-graded asphalt friction course; 29,600 m2 fog seal; 100,000 m2 weathering agent (various applications); 28 each concrete headwall (various); 455 m pipe culvert (various); 5,100 m Portland cement concrete curb and gutter; 1,100 m2 Colored Portland cement concrete sidewalk; 14,000 fence tortoise barrier; along with associated surveying, staking, landscaping, signing and traffic control. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
