s Federal Technology Service (GSA FTS) cordially invites members of the telecommunications industry and other interested parties to a public forum on August 3, 2001 at the U. S. Department of Agriculture's Jefferson Auditorium, South Building, 1400 Independence Avenue, S.W., Washington, DC 20250 (enter at Wing 4 entrance only). The meeting will address the FTS Crossover Implementation Strategy for local and long distance telecommunications services. This meeting is the follow-on to a briefing that was delivered on June 28, 2001 to the Industry Advisory Council, Telecommunications Shared Interest Group (IAC Telecom SIG) concerning the same subject. The public forum will commence at 8:30 a.m. with a presentation of the Crossover Implementation Strategy and a synopsis of the questions and comments that were advanced from industry, following the June 28th IAC Telecom SIG briefing, along with replies issued to date. The complete Crossover Implementation briefing as well as the questions submitted by industry and responses issued thus far by GSA can be found at the Crossover web page: http://www.gsa.gov/crossover. Immediately following this segment of the meeting, interested parties will be afforded the opportunity to address the forum with their views specific to crossover implementation. This venue will consist of oral presentations that will be limited to a maximum duration of five minutes. Senior FTS officials who are responsible for crossover implementation, as well as representatives of the Interagency Management Council, will be empanelled during the forum to consider industry comments and request clarification, as may be required. Industry officials wishing to address the forum must forward their name, title, company represented, and a complete narrative description of their position to GSA FTS no later than August 1, 2001. Please note, only those representatives who have responded by August 1 with the appropriate submission will be placed on the agenda and permitted to address the forum.
