Z -- Holbrook Creek Trail No. 131 & Bartlett Creek Trail No. 129 on the Flathead NF

The Flathead National Forest is advertising a Pre-Solicitation Prospectus for construction/reconstruction trail work on the Spotted Bear Ranger District, Powell County, Montana. The project and access trails to the project are located within the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area; therefore, no motorized or mechanized equipment, including mountain bikes, will be allowed. The project consists of trail construction/reconstruction work on 1.8 miles of Holbrook Creek Trail and 4.5 miles on Bartlett Creek Trailing including clearing and grubbing, excavation, switchbacks, tread work, waterbars, ditches, culverts, turnpike construction and repair, and shallow stream fords. Some rock blasting will be necessary. The solicitation is not currently available and is scheduled to be issued the winter of 2003 (pending availability of funds). A Pre-bid Tour is not scheduled; however, prospective offerors are encouraged to visit the project on their own prior to winter conditions closing the area.
