D--NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE, RADIO BACKBONE SERVICES

The Bureau of Land Management, Salt Lake City, UT has a requirement to obtain services for the maintenance and interconnection of the Microwave Backbone System for all Radio Control throughout the state of Utah. In the past this requirement has been provided by the Utah Department of Technology Services. Under Utah's HB #155, Utah DTS has combined with Utah Communication Authority. The Utah Communication Authority is the sole and only provider of these services in Utah. It is therefore proposed by the BLM to Sole Source a base plus 4 year option contract to the Utah Communication Authority for the continutiy of the Microwave Backbone System for all radio control that BLM Utah participates in. A sole source justification was provided to the Contracting Officer and an award of this contract will be made on or about September 1, 2014.
