NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE Notice of intent to award a sole source contract to: NC Machinery 730 Old Steese Hwy, Fairbanks, AK will provide Services removal of existing Cat coupling system hooks replace with new fusion couplers for Denali National Park, Denali Park, Alaska. (See General Description below). Under authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A) The Denali National Park, requires the removal or cutting off existing Cat coupling system hooks and attaching new fusion hooks per Caterpillar Special instructions to avoid warranty issues. The implements need to be done one at a time; park cannot ship out all of loader buckets at the same time This Notice of Intent is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals or quotations received in response to this notice. This supply will be procured under Firm Fixed Price Supply in accordance with FAR 12 procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1. JUSTIFICATION FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION (or SOLE SOURCE) BACKGROUND: Caterpillar equipment Removal, rework the blank hooks and install the new fusion hooks on buckets, forks and snow blower for the East District Roads Division of Denali National Park. This will give roads division the ability to use one machine to accomplish several tasks. 1) FAR Statutory Authority cited: 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. N.C. Machinery , 730 Old, Steese Hwy, Fairbanks, AK 99701 2) Nature and description of the supplies or services required to meet the agency's needs: Remove, rework the blank hooks and install the new fusion hooks on buckets, forks and snow blower on the Caterpillar equipment Special Instructions REHS3953-02; see also Special Instruction REHS1841, 3) A demonstration that the proposed contractor is the only source available to provide these services or goods (i.e. unique qualifications, proprietary rights, etc.): Contacted Caterpillar seeking authorized service providers in Alaska NC Machinery is the only company in Alaska.
