The National Park Service intends to award a sole-source contract to Frontier Communications to upgrade telephone lines in Chaco Culture National Park (CHCU), NM. As prescribed in FAR 6.302-1 (b) (3). Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. NPS intends to issue this order to the regional provider of telephone services Frontier Communications. This requirement is to abandon and replace fifty pair telecom lines and reconnect to the existing system, approximately 1200 feet. Work also includes replacement of equipment at the nearby radio building to bring the telecommunication system up to current code at CHCU. Frontier Communications is the service provider at this location, certified by the New Mexico Public Service Commission. All lines and equipment installed will be owned and maintained by Frontier Communication. A determination not to compete this proposed contract has been made pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.303 and FAR 6.304.
