The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) in Atlanta, Georgia, intends to award a sole source contract with the Meridian Institute,The in Vero Beach, FL. This acquisition is required for the Independent Scientific Review for the restoration of the Everglade Ecosystem. There is no solicitation. A determination not to compete this proposed contract has been made Pursuant to 41 U.S. C. 253(c)(1), as implemented by 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Meridian Institute has the unique capabilities to meet the agency needs because they have trained personnel and equipment to provide accurate, consistent, comparable data collection on the everglades restoration program.
