Notice of Intent to Issue a Single Source Award to Northwest Marine Technology, Inc.

ELECTIRCAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT COMPONENTS. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), Region 3, Division of Construction and Acquisition at Ft. Snelling, Minnesota, intends to procure on a sole-source basis with Northwest Marine Technology (NMT), Inc., of Shaw Island, Washington for binary coded wire tags, injection, and detection equipment for use in a proprietary system developed by NMT. The thin wire micro-coded tags with a binary number are applied by insertion into the snout of fingerlings and used to monitor growth without loss of life to the fish. Each group of tags is made for a specific agency containing a unique batch or individual code and protected by several U.S. patents. NMT is the only know authorized manufacturer and distributor for these items.
