V--Intent to award sole source contract for barging services between the towns of Chelan and Stehekin on Lake Chelan; North Cascades NPS Complex; Washington.

In accordance with FAR 6.302-1 and FAR 13, the National Park Service (NPS) intends to award a sole source contract to Stehekin Maintenence and Machinery, DBA Tom Courtney Tug and Barge Co., for barge service between the towns of Stehekin and Chelan, Washington, on Lake Chelan. The NPS requires transport of materials, supplies, fuel, vehicles, and equipment on both a regular and an intermittent basis, and short-term storage of same at the contractor's facility in Chelan. Barge runs will be approximately monthly. The value of this annual procurement is estimated at between $10,000 and $30,000. The intent of this synopsis is for informational purposes only; this is not a request for competitive quotes. Tom Courtney Tug and Barge is the only company offering this service on Lake Chelan. Stehekin is a remote community located at the north end of Lake Chelan, approximately 50 miles from Chelan, Washington. The Stehekin valley is isolated; the roads do not connect with any highway system. Maps and other info is available at www.nps.gov/noca .
