99--Notice of Intent to Issue a Single Source Award to Northwest Marine Technology, Inc.

There is no solicitation. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Contracting and General Services Division in Portland, OR have a requirement for the procurement of Coded Wire Tags needed for specific late fall run during Chinook salmon studies performed by the Stockton Fish & Wildlife Office, Stockton, CA. Northwest Marine Technology, Inc. (NMT) is the only known source that can meet Agency requirements. CWT injection equipment, CWT detection equipment and parts and repair for injection and detection equipment are manufactured and distributed solely by NMT. These systems as well as NMT tags, injection, detection, and elastomer equipment are protected by several U. S. patents. The Service intends to award Sole Source to Northwest Marine Technology, Inc. This synopsis is a notice of intent to issue award using other than full and open competition and is not a request for competitive proposals. The determination of the Government not to open subject requirement to full and open competition was made IAW FAR 6.302-1.
