N1700060806 Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(i), the National Park Service intends to enter into negotiations with AFA Protective Systems on a sole source, non-competitive basis for Security and Fire Alarm Inspection and Maintenance Service at Adams National Historical Park in Quincy, MA. AFA Protective Systems is the local area representative and authorized dealer of the existing security system and owns the programming rights for the existing alarm panels. AFA Protective systems has worked on both systems and is the current vendor for the security alarm system. It would be in the best interest of the government to combine the inspection and maintenance of the fire and security systems under one vendor to protect the historic resources. Therefore, in accordance with the above cited authority, the government intends to enter into negotiations with AFA Protective Systems within 15 days after publication of this notice. The anticipated term of this contract is from May 15, 2006 through May 14, 2007 with four one-year options to extend the terms and conditions. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses of this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. NAICS 561621.
