V--Intent to award sole source contract for barging of supplies, equipment, and materials between Chelan and Stehekin, WA; North Cascades NPS Complex, Washington.

In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, the National Park Service (NPS) intends to award a sole source contract to Tom Courtney Tug and Barge Co. for barge service between Stehekin and Chelan, Washington, on Lake Chelan. The NPS requires transport of materials, supplies, fuel, vehicles, and equipment on both a regular and an intermittent basis, and short-term storage of same at the contractor's facility in Chelan. Barge runs are approximately monthly. The value of this procurement is estimated at between $10,000 and $40,000. The intent of this synopsis is for informational purposes only; this is NOT a request for competitive quotes. Tom Courtney Tug and Barge is the only company offering this service on Lake Chelan. Stehekin is a remote community located at the north end of Lake Chelan, approximately 50 miles from Chelan, Washington. The Stehekin valley is isolated; the roads do not connect with any highway system.
