This is a special notice provided for informational purposes only, prepared in accordance with FAR 5.2- Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) Joint Administrative Operations, Acquisition and Property Operations, Goods and Services Operations plans to issue a single source award in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) to Forest Technology Systems, Inc. This contract is for the maintenance of weather station assets used by wildland fire management teams in the FWS Southwest region according to the Annual Maintenance and Sensor Replacement Standards. Currently only two serving entities are approved by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group, an interagency group of government wildfire specialists. One of the sources, an agency team from BLM, was not available due to requirements for notification of intent earlier in 2020. Due to the urgency of the maintenance needs and the lack of availability from the BLM source, it has been determined that Forest Technology Systems, Inc. is the only vendor able to fulfill this requirement. This notice is not a request for proposal/quote or invitation for bid. A solicitation will not be issued in conjunction with this notice of intent. Any vendor that believes it can provide the proposed services can provide supporting documents demonstrating capability that will be put forward for possible consideration by the National Wildfire Coordinating Group. The Government is not responsible for any costs incurred in response to this notice. Information can be sent to the Contract Specialist, Aaron Eubank, email:
