Description
Mine Reclamation Construction Services - Reclamation of one highwall from an abandoned coal mine, located on private property, southwest of the town of Bison, in Perkins County, South Dakoto. Work includes: 1) Removal of an existing guardrail and wire fence; 2) clearing and grubbing; 3) removing surficial soils for reuse; 4) excavation of soil for subgrade preparation; 5) Excavation, placement, and compaction of existing on-site coal spoil refuse as embankment fill; 6) Final grading of borrow areas, new embankment, and other areas on-site; 7) traffic control; 8) Installation of permanent erosion control methods; and 9) Installation of new guardrail and wire fence. Liability insurance of $500,000.00 per person and $1,000,000.00 per occurence and $500,000.00 Property Damage is required. Perkins County Reclamation Project; solicitation number IFB514007, estimated price range $25,000 - $50,000. Construction performance period is 21 calendar days in the summer of 2005. Attendance at the pre-bid meeting is mandatory for bidders. The pre-bid site showing will be held at the site, approximately 6-1/2 miles south of State Highway 20 on Bixby Road (C9A), near Bison, South Dakoto.
