58--Automated Flight Following (AFF) Equipment (Iridium based) to be installed in single engine aircraft operated acreoss the State of Alaska (often at very low altitudes)

This represents the first requirement (quantity) to be ordered towards the goal of equipping the 60 plus Alaska fleet aircraft with AFF equipment. Equipment must : 1) be Iridium satellite based; 2) include transciever, tracking controller, GPS receiver, and TSO'd antennas; and 3) offer subscription tracking service that has been demonstrated to be successfully fed into the Government's AFF tracking system. Evaluation will include cost of purchase, an cost of tracking service based upon approximately 200 flight hours per year. Selection will be on a best value basis.
