R--R--Operate a fishwheel near the village of Tanana, AK on the Yukon River for fishery research

The US Fish & Wildlife Service, Region 7, Alaska intends to award a sole source procurement to Fishwheel Services, dba Tozi Enterprises, Tanana, Alaska for the operation of a fishwheel near the remote Alaska village of Tanana on the Yukon River for the purpose of providing a daily Catch-Per-Unit-Effort (CPUE) data of all salmon stocks entering the Tanana River to managers of the Alaska Dept of Fish and Game (ADF&G), the US Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) and to the public. The continued development of "video capture" technology and improved fish handling methods are important aspects of the project. Start date is June 15, 2004 and a report is due in Jan, 2005. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes and the Government does not intend to accept proposals received. Award will be made 15 days after publication of this notice.
