6640--Intent to Sole Source Allentown NexGen IVC Caging System and Biosafety Cabinet

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Oklahoma City VA Health Care System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Allentown, Inc. for NexGen IVC Caging System and Biosafety Cabinet, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Investigators at the Oklahoma City HCS Research Service require additional NexGen IVC Caging Systems and Biosafety Cabinet for ongoing research projects due to an expanding population and continued modernization of the animal facility. The Allentown NexGen IVC Caging System and Biosafety Cabinet is the only known system compatible with the current Allentown proprietary caging and watering system in use at the facility, and Allentown is the manufacturer and only known distributor of the NexGen IVC system. This is a notice of intent and is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any responsible source who can provide an equivalent product with the features described above, and who is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller of all the items listed above, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Thursday, September 15, 2022, 3:00 PM, EDT. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
