6640--Inspirata- Slide Scanner Cleveland VA

The Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center (LSCVAMC) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Inspirata GT-450 whole slide scanner. LSCVAMC has a large volume of slides obtained from patients with lung tumors who underwent a biopsy or resection. Digitization of these slides will provide an important opportunity to expand the efforts by LSCVAMC researchers to develop computational approaches that will result in greater predictive strength and thus improved care of Veterans here and elsewhere. The scanner must be able to 1. Scan at a minimum magnification of 40x bright field glass and whole mount tissue slides. 2. Output in open source formats which can be used for computational analysis and not proprietary formats. 3. Must also have obtained FDA certification or is in the process of obtaining FDA certification. In addition, the scanner must have a >400 slide capacity, continuous loading capabilities and automatic out of focus checking. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement and who is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, authorized distributor or authorized reseller of all the items listed above, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office to the contracting office no later Monday, March 9, 2020, 11AM EST.
