J--Jesse Brown VAMC and Edward Hines VA Hospital, Sole Source IDIQ Contract for the Impella AIC Heart Pump with a 5 year ordering period to begin on 3/1/2018 though 2/28/2023.

Under FAR regulation 13.104 the Government anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with Abiomed for a full-service maintenance contract for the Impella AIC Heart Pump already in use at the Jesse Brown VAMC and Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital both in the state of Illinois. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. This announcement is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 13.106-1(b). Other persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement by February 12th 0800 Central Time. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interest received on or before by February 12th 0800 Central Time will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
